Pignon Vert

Pignon Vert

Pignon Vert is a farm located in the Lanaudière region that was established in 1995 with the acquisition of farmland and 300 hectares of crops, allowing them to produce their own grain.

They raise a hybrid breed of sows, a cross between Landrace and Yorkshire, which are then bred with Pietrain boars. This combination produces exceptionally high-quality pork with an optimal muscle-to-fat ratio.

Animal nutrition has always been a top priority for the farm. They have chosen not to include cracked corn in the feed ration, resulting in firm, white fat — a true mark of quality in pork production.

Over the years, this family-owned business, now led by a father-and-son team, has successfully adapted to market challenges while maintaining exemplary animal welfare practices. Through their expertise and commitment, they have built an outstanding reputation within the industry.
